Scan Any Doc does not collect, store, or share any personal information, and never accesses your documents' content off your device. The only data that leaves the app is automatic crash and error diagnostics reported via Firebase Crashlytics (see "Crash Reporting" below). The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and does not require an account or sign-up.
The app requests the camera permission solely to scan documents. Camera images are processed on your device and saved only to the app's private storage. They are never uploaded anywhere.
Document edge detection and text recognition (OCR) are performed entirely on your device using Google's ML Kit on-device libraries. Your images and recognized text are not sent to Google or to any server by this app.
The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically send crash and error reports so problems can be found and fixed. These reports may include your device model, OS version, and app state at the time of the crash. They never include your documents, images, or any other personal files. See Google's Firebase privacy policy for how this data is handled: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
If you enable the app lock, unlocking is handled by your device's built-in Android biometric system. Scan Any Doc never sees, stores, or has access to your fingerprint or face data.
Your scanned documents and PDFs are stored in the app's private storage on your device. They are deliberately excluded from cloud backup, so they are not uploaded to your Google account backup. When you move to a new phone using Android's direct device-to-device transfer, your documents travel directly between your devices.
Documents leave the app only when you explicitly share or export them (for example via email, WhatsApp, or saving to a folder). You choose the destination every time; the app never shares anything on its own.
The only third-party service integrated into Scan Any Doc is Firebase Crashlytics (Google), used solely for crash and error reporting as described above. No advertising or analytics SDKs are present, and no other third-party services are integrated.
The app is suitable for all ages. Since no personal or document data is collected from anyone, no such data is collected from children.
If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future version adds an online feature), the updated policy will be posted at this address and the effective date above will be revised.
